Julia-roberts

Julia Fiona Roberts is the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus, and Walter Grady Roberts. She was born on October 28th, 1967, in Atlanta. Roberts belongs to an extended family of Robertses, the 4th generation to reside in the Atlanta region, beginning with her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. Her father took an early interest in theatre. When he was a student at Emory University in 1952 he participated in plays on campus as well as elsewhere in Atlanta. He joined the Air Force in 1953 and, while located in Biloxi Mississippi, he appeared in an army production that featured Betty Lou Bredemus who was also in the air force. In 1955, the couple tied the knot and, in 1956, their son Eric Anthony was born. Walter was enrolled in Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. The year 1957 was the year they left the airforce and Walter began his studies at Tulane. In 1960 the family moved from Louisiana to Decatur Georgia where Walter began working at Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter as well as Betty Lou produced a Saturday morning local television show specifically for children that was titled Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964. The show was a success and they earned a salary. They created an Actors and Writers Workshop in the same year. The workshop lasted six years. They welcomed in 1965 two more children into their lives: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
